This article is very interesting. This article is about how poverty affects families who have a child with a disability. It has a lot of great information about this topic that may not have a lot of research on it.

I found this article interesting. It is about how mothers of special needs have needs too. It is interesting because the question could be asked, Do mothers have more responsibility over children with special needs? I think this could go either way depending on who is raising the children and who is also helping raise the child. But the article is very interesting to read. The article may seem biased but it is interesting to read. There are also other links that could help a parent.

This week i want to focus on how parents deal with stress if they have children with disabilities. Parents of children with special needs can have many different stresses depending on the severity of the disability. Since i am not a parent, i do not know the stress of having a typically developing child let alone a child with a disability. I found an article on parental stress with children with disabilities.

The article gave good insight to on how stress can affect parents.

On the article from yesterday, there were some things to take away from the article on the side of it. They were:
  • Children are increasingly more stressed in the school environment
  • Children with learning disabilities often suffer greater stress at school
  • Children who are disinterested in school and activities are most likely suffering from stress
I thought these three bullets i think are very relevant to my blog and to my topic this week. They also show how children with disabilities can feel a lot of stress at school.

Another part from the article said: Special education classes are designed to assist the child in not only achieving their own academic excellence but doing so in a setting that is conducive to their learning style.

Students with disabilities need these special classroom so that they dont feel as stressed at school.

This week i want to focus on how stress can affect children with disabilities in an educational setting. I found an article that discusses this topic really well. The article discusses how children feel the stresses in school and they feel other stresses from their parents and teachers. The article discusses how when children feel this stress, they begin to show a lack of wanting to even go to school. This is why most schools have a special education classroom, to help the children feel less stress from teachers as well as classmates. Overall this article was very insightful and would be helpful for teachers, parents and other children.

Going along with my previous post on how siblings feel about/ deal with other siblings with disabilities, i found an insightful article on this topic.

This article shows how siblings feel about this topic. It is a very truthful article and can give truthful information to families, teachers and therapist needing information if they have a family in need.
